IT System Technician

Profile

: Responsible for all Operations elements regarding the design, production, and certification of Capstone Microturbine products and systems.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
This position is part of the Information Technology team. It accomplishes the tasks and activities associated with the full range of IT technology landscape, including end user support, hardware & software troubleshooting, and server & application maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as first contact with users, responding to onsite calls, emails, and helpdesk tickets.
Troubleshoot PC, desk phone, mobile phone, and printer issues.
Manage IT equipment inventory.
Install, configure, and test software, both for end users and for IT server/equipment.
Backup and restore computer systems with cloud and offsite storage.
Windows-based domain user administration, including domain controller, group policy and Azure AD.
Write and update documents regarding diagnostic, troubleshooting, correction, and user work instructions.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of IT systems, provide training of users, and make them more efficient.
Contact and follow through with vendor to resolve issues, including break fix, customization, maintenance, and updates.
Participate in various team and project meetings, providing input and suggestions, and discussion items.
Assist network and system engineers in project implementation and rollouts.
Perform duties of the senior engineer or analyst in his/her absence.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Possess strong analytical skills to interact with a wide range of users having different levels of computer expertise.
Demonstrate skills in problem solving, quality assurance, documentation, systems analysis, and design.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work well in a team-setting of both business and technical personnel, and to develop and maintain relationships at all levels.
Produce results in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities and constraints. Show results-orientation and accountability under time pressure.
Maintain a high level of awareness, self-motivation and capacity to learn information technologies, such as VM, relational DB, SaaS, ethernet, Wi-Fi, VoIP.
Show a strong knowledge of the integration points and data flow between common business applications, such as SAP, Salesforce.
Transport self to commute and to various facility sites as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate or bachelor degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or other technical fields. High school diploma with relevant 1 year experience is also acceptable.
Must be familiar with Microsoft Office suite, including O365.
Good understanding of Operating Systems (Windows, MacOS), database, cloud computing, and cyber security.
Experience in enterprise applications, such as SAP or Salesforce, is helpful.
Knowledge with some coding in Java, Python, VB, or other modern programming languages is a plus.
A willingness to learn new things.
