The senior eCommerce sales manager is the prime link between all sales divisions and eCommerce team, who is responsible for developing & executing sales and marketing strategy for direct to consumer and B2B eCommerce/Omnichannel business for Samsung. The incumbent must be creative and passionate about delivering premium experience to customers to drive sales rather than typical retailers promotion tactics. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for managing day-to-day product launch and promotion calendar, working with rest of eCommerce team and sales divisions to ensure flawless execution.
The incumbent is required to work closely with various product sales divisions to gain alignment on sales strategies and tactics, while delivering post-mortem analysis and reports. The incumbent is to analyze and monitor business growth and decline, as well as provide possible short-term and long-term solutions and ways to increase productivity and sales. Also, the incumbent is required to maintain a close relationship with a finance team to manage and own eCommerce P&L and pursue a profitable growth of the channel. All strategies and plans must be data driven and the purpose of all tactics must align to overall DtC/B2B objectives.
The senior eCommerce Sales manager is required to make key business decisions for the team and support other functional areas from operation to customer service in order to grow business from various aspects of business. The incumbent is also responsible for external business & sales related communications related to business term negotiation, contracts, and approvals. The senior eCommerce sales manager directly manages B2B eCommerce Development manager.
Role and Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Planning
Manages entire SECA (IM & CE) eCommerce sales and P&L
Responsible for Direct to Consumer (DtC or B2C) and B2B eCommerce businesses
Develop short-team and long-term strategies and promotion plans to maximize B2C and
) eCommerce sales
SECA Product lifecycle management in eCommerce: Manage 900 current product sales, 100 new product launches from all divisions every year (HHP, tablet, wearables, IoT, TV, AV, Display and major/minor digital appliances), EOL plan, and pricing on B2C and various multistore EPP/SMB sites
Collaborate with performance marketing, strategy & planning, operations, customer experience, finance, legal and division sales teams to build tactical product and promotion plans
Analyze and manage P&L impact of promotions and apply to future planning for a profitable long-term growth
Understand sales and product marketing strategies of each product group and develop unique and relevant eCommerce sales strategies for different group of products (IM, HE and DA) considering their different nature of business and industry
Work with each divisions PM team and leaders to have overall strategy and objective aligned
Initiate and support team projects and operation enhancements to pursue a long-term business growth
Data management and reporting on daily, weekly and monthly sales insights
Develop monthly sales forecast by working with different account managers and SCMs
Ensure all forecasts are reported and reflected in the system on-time
Ad-hoc and regular reports to the executives on key plans and results (Product launch, key promotions, major holidays, etc.)
Monitor and analyze sales trend, traffic, conversion, SWOT, ROI, areas of improvement, etc. and report on a regular basis
Generate creative and unique promotion & offers tactics for B2C and
eCommerce business based on market research and competitive analytics
Gather all information and requirements regarding all sales initiatives (ie. Product launch, promotion, key sell-out platforms, etc.) then provide timely communications to the operations & SCM teams
Constantly assess current system and operation limitations and look for areas of sales growth in those areas
Constantly monitor site readiness and promotion executions to minimize potential customer escalation and negative sales impact
Define eCommerce sales target for each division in B2C and B2B (EPP/SMB) and share with sales divisions PM team and leaders to look for additional opportunities
Obtain alignments & internal approvals on key activities & processes with all related divisions (sales divisions, finance, service, etc.)
Lead internal projects (and activities) tracking, reporting and weekly meetings
Manage sales program activities across eCom Content team, Marcom, Sales, PM
Expand Samsungs online sales (both B2C and B2B) platform to new categories (DA/IT), services and continue growing current IM/HE business online sales
Oversight of eStore sell-out forecast, SCM, CPFR, and CMF process
Work with the marketing and legal team to develop creatives and legal terms & conditions for B2C/B2B (EPP/SMB) offers and promotions of all sales divisions
Manage business relationships with external partners (eCommerce Reseller, Distributor, Payment provider and various Service providers)
Work with external partners to develop sales strategy and promotion plans (i.e. Financing, Trade-in, GRV, etc.) to meet various consumer needs and provide relevant benefits
Work with external B2B (EPP/SMB) partners to develop account specific sales and marketing plans to drive B2B business
Manage business negotiations
Work with legal and external partners to finalize contracts and amendments
Conduct regular business reviews with the partners to improve visibility to critical KPIs, co-develop solutions to drive operational success
Work with marcom team to develop multistore communication materials
Work with sales divisions and finance team to manage spending efficiently in each channel and facilitate cash flow between external partners and SECA
Lead regular meetings with internal stakeholders (Marcom TTM, Sales divisions)
Lead and support new B2B account development
Lead all communications to external partners in developing sales promotions (i.e. external gift card offering, 3rd party company product offering with purchase of Samsung products) involving both parties
Manage and guide B2B eCommerce Business Development manager
Skills and Qualifications
An Associates degree in Marketing or Business or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in consumer electronics industry.
Demonstrated people management skills
Expert in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and proficiency with Online Analytical Processing
(ie. Omniture & Google analytics)
Strong analytical & persuasion skills
Possess exceptional organizational & planning skills and attention to detail while having Sense of curiosity & urgency
Highly developed communication & interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and interact comfortably with a wide range of levels in the organization: from senior executives to support staff within and outside of the company.
Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
Strong organizational and planning skills
Proven ability to function effectively in a team environment.
Ability to travel overseas Experience:
7 plus years experience in eCommerce or B2B sales, strategy & planning, product management
Thorough understanding of product and promotion cycles
Experience working with SAP/ERP and eCommerce CMS
