Gannett Fleming\u2019s Office in Raleigh, NC is looking for a \u202fMechanical Designer\u202fto join our team!
\u202fThe Facilities Business Line provides building-focused engineering services to a variety of biopharmaceutical and industrial clients. We provide analysis, evaluation, plans, and design for facility projects that involve remodel, expansion, new construction, and process change. We provide design services in mechanical/HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
Your day to day responsibilities will include the Design of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, and Fire Protection Systems, Construction Administration and Coordination with other Disciplines.\u202f
Preparation of Construction Drawings, including floor plans, schedules, P&ID\u2019s, details, and specifications for the Mechanical, Piping, Plumbing, and Fire Protection disciplines. Drawings are created in Revit and AutoCAD.
Performing site survey of existing system conditions for interface of new designs with existing HVAC and control systems.
Design of mechanical systems including:\u202fair side and water side design, central plant, variable air volume and constant air volume systems, small and large HVAC systems, VRF systems, and dehumidification systems. Chilled water, Steam, Condensate, Compressed Air, Heating Hot Water, Clean Steam, etc.
Participate in meetings with clients and project teams.
Deliver projects in compliance with client and company quality control procedures and engineering guidelines.
Participate on project teams in an active production role.
Preparation of project specifications with oversight from the project Engineer.
Preparation of mechanical cost estimates
Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines.
Coordination and verification of as-built drawings.
Perform quality work that promotes client retention.
Associates degree in engineering with 2 years or more experience in designing HVAC Systems or a 4 year engineering degree.
General knowledge of HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing.
A general understanding of mechanical building codes and construction standards.
A general understanding of building and system HVAC controls and sequences.
Computer proficiency in applications within MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required
Proficiency in Revit is highly desirable.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills required.
